Weapons
General information:
The Münster Police Headquarters - Central Tasks Directorate, Central Inspectorate 1, Department ZA 1.2 - is the local authority responsible for regulatory tasks under the Weapons Act. It is therefore responsible for all applicants and permit holders with primary residence in Münster.
Responsibilities:
- Weapons registration and deregistration
- Requests for information and advice on weapons law
- Acceptance of weapons destined for destruction
- Weapons possession cards, European firearms passports, import and export licenses, loss and lost property reports, proof of safe storage of firearms
- "Small firearms license" for PTB weapons (alarm, irritant and signal weapons)
- Weapons law inheritance and probate proceedings - "heirs' gun ownership cards", Proof procedures for blocking systems for inherited weapons
- Shooting notifications/appointment of the responsible supervisors at shooting events
- Weapons law procedures, in particular refusals, revocation and weapons ban procedures
- Legal matters relating to the work areas of shooting range acceptance, firearms trade as well as expert and specialist examinations
- State recognition of courses for imparting expertise for the Münster administrative district
